In the heart of Copenhagen, nestled within the timeless charm of a 1930s apartment, Sara and her boyfriend embarked on an extraordinary journey of transformation earlier this year. Their story is one of reinvention, where an empty canvas became a sanctuary of warmth and sophistication. A mix of neutrals from the Notes® colour palette have breathed life into the apartment’s original details, creating an inviting haven that beckons you to relax and unwind.

When Sara and her boyfriend first set foot in the space back in February, they were met with a vibrant burst of colours from a bygone era. It was clear that their mission was to restore the apartment's soulful heritage while imprinting their unique personality onto it. The apartment, with its stucco and distinctive character, held the promise of something extraordinary.

We wanted to bring back the attention to the original details and character of the apartment.

29-year-old, Sara is born and raised in Copenhagen and recently launched the dating platform, BLISH.

Their interior style speaks volumes, a captivating mix of masculinity and delicate femininity that strikes a harmonious balance. The presence of a bold, black dining table and the allure of chrome materials bring a touch of masculinity into their living space. Yet, this robust foundation is softened by subtle and light hues chosen for the walls to infuse each room with a sense of warmth and tranquility.

The shades Cover Skin, Beige Blend, Double Truffle, and Notes White were carefully curated, each contributing to the narrative of the apartment's evolution. Sara explains, "I think combining these colours have a very subtle, but charismatic way of bringing out certain traits in each room."

Indeed, every room in Sara’s apartment tells a unique story through the choice of colours. In their bedroom, Double Truffle adorns not just the woodwork but also the ceiling, creating an intimate cocoon that exudes cosiness and comfort. The white walls serve as a perfect backdrop, emphasising the room’s inviting atmosphere.

We just want to be able to go home to a space that is quiet, bright and easy to be in.

The heart of their design philosophy revolves around creating a welcoming, comfortable space—a sanctuary where both the bustling outside world and the demands of daily life can be left at the doorstep.

In Sara’s Copenhagen apartment, the colours have been more than just hues on a wall. Their experience is a testament to the transformative power of colour and design. It is a reminder that, with a dash of creativity and a palette of carefully chosen shades, anyone can turn a home into a space that resonates with their unique personality and invites them to embrace the everyday joys of life.
